Despite even the best intensions, any well-used golf car will eventually need some sort of maintenance. At Golf Cars of Hickory in North Carolina, we do all kinds of golf car repairs, including ordering golf car parts and replacing golf car tires. Whether your cart is new and needs a tuneup, or you own previously used golf cars, we have everything you need to make sure your car is working perfectly all year round.
As a golf car owner, however, there are some things you can do at home to help with the upkeep of your golf car. Here are some maintenance tips that you can perform yourself between regular maintenance and repair services from Golf Cars of Hickory:
Check the battery by carefully removing cables and charging the battery with your golf cart charger. Clean the cables using a wire brush and ensure they are clean to keep the battery functioning properly.
Check the golf car tires to ensure that they are inflated to the correct pressure, and inflate flats with an electric air pump. If you find that inflating the tires does not help, change the tire by removing the lug nuts.
Clean out dirt and debris from the accelerator pads to ensure they are always working properly.
Above all, never feel pressured to fix your golf cart if you are unsure what to do, since you could potentially do more damage or create an unsafe driving experience. If you’re unsure of how to do your own maintenance, come see us to get your cart working as good as new again!
